Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan we are working with Dr. A. Levin, Institute of Zoology, Ministry of Education and Sciences. Here we are investigating the possibility of establishing a management programme to reinforce the existing Saker Falcon population through artificial nest creation and/or reintroduction of the species. Kazakhstan has a vast land area and contains one of the largest Saker Falcon populations in the world. Our research efforts in the country attempt to identify status trends and population estimates for different regions. We continue to monitor the Saker Falcon in Eastern Kazakhstan as part of an ongoing monitoring project.
